A few weeks ago I told my husband that we needed to plan a day with the kids and forget the housework inside and out. We decided to take the kids to the Roger Williams Zoo in Rhode Island. It was a beautiful day and apparently many had the same idea in mind because it was crowded. It took us an hour and a half to get there. We left in the morning to try and get there when it opened. Though there was a lot of construction going on due to expansion the kids knew no better and had a wonderful time.
I find myself often watching them see things for the first time. The camels in this picture look like they want to give anyone a "smooch". I took many pictures of the kids and of course tortured them into allowing me to take some of both of them.
By noon we were all starting to get a little tired and hungry. We lasted a little while longer before we headed home. To see more pictures of the zoo trip click here.
By the time we hit the road both kids were tuckered out and fast asleep.
In this little venture we decided that we need to take time out to just do something fun. Though chores can be overwhelming at times we need a break to rejuvenate ourselves so that we can be productive. We plan on doing some of that this weekend with the holiday coming up.
LUUUURRRVVVEEE the camels! They do like they are ready to make smoochie-smoochie. And yes, we all need to remember to self-rejuvenate every so often. It’s good for our souls and those around us! 🙂
